Review: Make It Sweet

Make It Sweet Make It Sweet by Kristen Callihan
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Emma is an actress and one of the favorite characters on a hit TV show. Until her character is killed off with no warning and on the same day she learns she will soon be out of a job, catches her boyfriend cheating on her. Lucian was engaged and a star hockey player until injury forces him out. Hockey was is life and now he doesn't know what to do. He retreats to is grandma's house (Rosemont) to recuperate, hide, and figure out what is next. Emma goes there too at the urging of her grandma (who is friends with Amalie (Mamie to Lucian) for the same reasons.
Emma and Lucian have an instant attraction, but each fights it. Both have reasons for not wanting a relationship. This is a slow burn and does get a bit frustrating at times. I think more sooner would have been nice. I did like the descriptions of baking; Lucian has talent and this is something he enjoys. It got old rather quickly his lamenting what could have been re: hockey career. This has a duel POV and was helpful; without it, I don't think I would have liked Lucian at all.
