Review:
A steampunk western? Sounds interesting. This opens up with Tom traveling back to his hometown from the front of a war with the Hapsburg's. It turns out he was in love with Rosa and didn't want to fight for their relationship (because her parents didn't like him and Reasons). He's going back to check on things. Low and behold he finds a gigantic mining machine tearing through the countryside towards his hometown. Rosa left the town and got a lot of life experience. When she came back, she was appointed sheriff. Now it's up to them to stop the machine from destroying the town.
While this was action packed, it was light on the romance. I thought Rosa forgave Tom too easily. I also had a hard time imaging what a "Sky Horse" would look like (no wings).
