That Mistletoe Moment

Review:

As with just about all anthologies, some stories are better than others and that was the case with this one too. The 1st story- A Boyfriend by Christmas was the best and if I rated this story by itself, this would be 4*. Noelle and George have been dating almost 5 years. They grew up together, but didn't start dating until they were in college. Their parents are friends and next door neighbors. After having (finally) realized he really wasn't just that into her/right for her Noelle breaks up with him. On Thanksgiving. Her sister sets her up with a fake boyfriend app. Noelle accidentally texts the wrong person (Nathan) and a relationship begins. I thought Noelle was a little batty, but relate-able and I liked her. I also liked Nathan. The romance helps fast, but I didn't really have a problem with that.

Didn't like Daniel.
Her Favorite Present 2*
Gabe is one of the founders of the fake boyfriend app. I couldn't warm up to him. He had a less than favorable opinion of the people (mainly women) who used his app.

Raging Dawn

Review:

After Max's wife's murder by vampires he sent his 8 yr old daughter away. She grew up thinking he died. This was a short, and nicely paced story about Max getting a 2nd chance at happiness with Savina. Savina's father was accused of stealing something from the Venators (vampire hunters). She has worked for last 10 years to prove his innocence. She finds out the answer. I thought the end was a abrupt with Max writing a letter to his daughter (Macey).

A Match Made for Thanksgiving

Review:

I've read a couple of duds recently and this one was fun! Nick is a playboy who grew up in a small town feeling isolated and different. His family and 1 brother still live there. Lily also grew up in a small town and was the "good girl" in her family. Her boyfriend recently broke up with her because he thought she was boring. So, to be less boring, she seeks out a one-night stand. And you can guess that one-night stand is Nick. They rock each other's world. And they part thinking that's the last each will see of the other.
This was perfectly paced and I enjoyed the secondary characters. Nick's family is meddling and hilarious. It's apparent they love him. The same with Lily's, but they are less on the page. I bought the next (Greg's story) and plan to read it in the next week or 2.

Legal Seduction

Review:

Bette is quitting her job and is caught while leaving her resignation letter.  There happens to be a mole at the firm and since she is resigning- it MUST be her!  So instead of coming right out and saying why she is leaving, she doesn't.  'Cause that would be too damn easy.  So, lets play a game of seduction instead.  'Cause it's sexier don't cha know?  Another boss/employee trope (or in this case soon to be ex).  I didn't like Simon and nothing he did made me like him.  And the mole is?  (To be solved in another book).

Review:

Not CE's best (by far). I rolled my eyes so much they got stuck in the back of my head. Multiple brothers who are all current/former military and alphas (check and check). Eh.

All Cats Are Introverts

Review:

My sister got this for my husband for Christmas (we did it early since we won't see them in Dec).  This was funny and a nice way for pass some time.  As usual, some poems were much better then others.

Under Fire

Review:

Liam and Rachel were introduced in the previous book. This picks up about 6 months later; Rachel has relocated to FL and trains therapy and emotional support dogs. She was burned out on rescue. One of the vets she is helping confides in her some things he witnessed before becoming injured. Problem is, no one believes them and once her dog is poisoned, she turns to Liam for help.
Having fallen for each other during the earthquake rescue they were both on earlier; neither pursued a relationship with the other for Reasons. I did think both characters, but this fell short for me. It felt flat. On the other hand, I liked reading about Brandon and Catriona. I would have liked more about that relationship.
